For wedding photographers
You’re shooting a wedding. Next year’s couples are ringing.
Saturday is the day you work and the day engaged couples do their research. You cannot be in both places.
- Price
- $50 a month, no contract.
- Your number
- Stays exactly as it is.
- Setup
- Two minutes. We do it.
- Reply time
- Seconds, not this evening.
01 The moment
Why wedding photographers miss calls
Not because you are careless with the phone. Because of where your hands are.
Mid-afternoon, formals done, you are shooting a reception with a second body over your shoulder. Your phone is on silent in a bag, as it has to be. Three enquiries came in that afternoon from couples who spent their Saturday looking at photographers.
02 What they get
The text that goes out
Within seconds of the call dropping, in your words, with your name on it.
Your business
It’s [NAME] — I’m shooting today and can’t answer. Text me your wedding date and where it’s being held and I’ll come back to you tomorrow with availability and pricing. Congratulations, by the way.
The caller, a minute later
Getting married 14 March next year, ceremony in the Yarra Valley, reception at the same place. Are you free and what are your packages?
That reply is the job written down. You ring back knowing what it is, where it is and whether it is worth stopping for.
03 What changes
What it changes for wedding photographers
- 01
Availability on one date is the entire question
Everything else is secondary until you know whether you are free. Getting the date first means your reply is an answer.
- 02
Saturday is the conflict
You work the day your customers shop. That does not change, and no amount of checking your phone between formals fixes it.
- 03
A reply during the search is worth more than a good one after
Couples shortlist in an afternoon. A message that arrives while they are still comparing gets you onto the list; one that arrives Monday finds it made.
04 Questions
What wedding photographers ask
The questions that come up on the phone, answered the way we'd answer them there.
Most enquiries come through my website or Instagram.
Then this only covers the phone ones, and if there are hardly any it will not do much. Worth counting before you spend anything — the audit does that free.
Wouldn’t an automatic text feel impersonal for a wedding?
It depends entirely on the wording. A short message saying you are shooting today and will come back tomorrow reads as a working photographer, which is reassuring. Anything that reads like a marketing blast does not.
Can it send my pricing?
You can put a link in the message, though it is generally better in the second message than the first — an unknown number sending a link is what a scam looks like. Introduce yourself first.
I only shoot a dozen weddings a year.
Then each one is a large share of your income and one recovered booking pays for many years of this. It also means your missed-call volume is probably low, so count it first.
See what you’re missing before you pay anything.
The audit counts the calls to your business that went unanswered last month, from your own records. It costs nothing and nothing changes on your line.
